Whereas Due Proof hath been made before
Us Richard Bealing< no role > and Ann brose Philips< no role > Esqrs : two of his Majties
Justices of the Peace for the said City and Liberty of Westmr: (Quor
Unus) Inhabiting in the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden in
the said Liberty Upon the Oath of Elizabeth Ingram< no role > Single
woman Mother of a Female Bastard Child born the 27th. day of
February last past in the Parish of St: Leonard in Foster
Lane London in the Precinct of St. Martin le Grand in the
Liberty of Westmr. aforesaid And there Christned Susanna
Fish, That One Joseph Fish< no role > of Croydon in the County of Surry
Did begett an the Body of the said Elizabeth Ingram< no role > the said
Female Bastard Child, Which Sd. Child is now Chargeable to the
said Parish of St. Leonard in Foster Lane in the Precinct and
Liberty aforesaid , off which the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor thereof have Complained.

Wee the said Justices Upon the Examination of the said
Elizabeth Ingram< no role > the Mother touching the Father of the said
Child And other Convinceing Circumstances Us hereunto
Moving Doe hereby Adjudge and Declare the said Joseph Fish< no role >
to be the reputed Father of the said Female Bastard Child
Born of the Body of the said Elizabeth Ingram< no role > as before
menconed And thereupon Wee doe Order as well for the Relief
and to Save harmless and Keep Indemnifyed the said Parish
of St. Leonard in Foster Lane in the Precinct and Liberty
aforesaid, as for the Maintaining and keeping of the said Female
Bastard Child: That the sd. Joseph Fish< no role > Shall forthwith
Upon Sight of this Our Order (a true Coppy thereof being first
Delivered to him) Pay or Cause to be paid Unto ye. Churchwardens
or Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of St. Leonard in Foster
Lane in the Precinct and Liberty aforesaid All Such Sum
and Sums of Money as they have Lay'd out and Expended for
and on the Account of the said Bastard Child not Exceeding
Ten Shillings a Week for the first four Weeks from the Birth
of the said Child for the Monthly Lying in of the said Elizabeth
Ingram And Also Five Shillings to the Midwife And after the
Expiracon of the said first four Weeks the said Joseph Fish< no role >
shall Likewise Pay or Cause to be Paid Weekly and every Week
the Sum of Two Shillings and Six pence of Lawfull money of
Great Britain for and towards the Reliefe and Maintenance
of the said Female Bastard Child, for soe long time as the said
Child Shall be Chargeable to the said Parish of St: Leonard in
Foster Lane in the Precinct and Liberty aforesaid.

And Lastly Wee doe Order That the said Joseph Fish< no role >
Doe forthwith Give Sufficient Security to the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Leonard in
Foster Lane in the Precinct and Liberty aforesaid for the true
Performance of this Our Order: Otherwise to find Sufficient
Surety's for his Personall Appearance at the next Generall
Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden for the said City
and Liberty of Westmr. There to Answer his Contempt and to
Abide Such further Order as the Court Shall think fitt to
make therein Given Under Our hands and Seals this
Tenth Day of April Anno Dui 1717.
