Mr. Treasurer having informed the Court that the Occasion of
summoning a General Court Was to acquaint them with a proposal made
by the Rt. Honble. the Earl of Pomfret for the purchasing a part or the whole
of this Hospitals Estate at Sunbury
in the Country of Middx
known by the
Name of the Lordship and Manor of Oxenford
in Colkenyngton
consisting
of a Capital Mansion House and about 50 Acres of Land lying chiefly in
the common fields and now hold together under a Lease thereof made to Peter
St: Eloy< no role >

: deceased. (of which six Years & three quarters were unexpired at
Chrismas last) at the Yearly Rent of £15. And with the proceedings of the
Grand Committee thereupon And the Minutes of the several Grand Commee
being read were in Substance as follows Vizt:
Grand Committee 30th: June 1767
Mr: Treasurer having acquainted the Committee that the Rt:
Honble: the Earl of Pomfret had made an offer of purchasing part of the whole
of the Hospitals Estate at Sunbury and of procuring an Act of Parliament at
his Lordship own Expence to enable the Hospital to alienate the same.
Resolved
That it is the Opinion of this Committee that this Lordship
be informed that the Governors of this Hospital will be ready to receive his
Lordships Proposals. And if they should be thought sufficiently Advantageous
to sell to his Lordship a part or the whole of such Estate upon Condition of
his procuring such Act of Parliament at his own Expence.
