Street

To grant a Lease to Mr. John Greenwood< no role > of the House situate on
the South side of St Thomas's Street part of the Premises at present
in the possession of Mr Backlow for a term of 61 year to commence
from the Lady day next ensuing the him at which the Hospital
shall be able to give Mr Greenwood possession at a Pepper Corn rent
for the first half year and of £10 P Ann for the remainder of the
term clear of the Land last and all other Taxes and outgoings Mr
Greenwood to rebuild the House agreeable to the plan & particular
thereof proposed by Mr Robinson and to his satisfaction within the him
and in the manner therein specified and to insure at not less than
£400.

The Treasurer reported that preview to the intended Trial the
Active reported at the Committee of the 5th day of June 1793 to have
been commenced against Lord Norwick the Clerk had stated in
Writing to the Counsel intended to be employed therein for this
Hospital all the Evidence which the Hospital could produce in
support of the Action and some evidence which would be brought
forward by Lord Warwrite in his deferred and that the Counsel as
consulted were clearly of Opinion that there was no probability of the
Hospital success in the Action and that therefore the Treasurer had
under the discretionary [..] power outed in him by the Committe
for the conduct of this Nansaction determined not to proceed to Trial
and had accordingly so informed the Defendant Lord Warwick and paid
him the Costs incurred by him in his deferred all which Proceedings the
Treasurers stated that he had reported to a former Committee who
had approvel thereof but no entry had been made thereof upon the
Minutes of the Committee.

Resolved

That the Treasurer's above proceedings are approved by this
Committee.
