to expend £1000 or £1200 at the least in meting a Dwelling
house or Dwellinghouse in front and other substantial buildings

had agreed to surrender his Lease and to pay Mr Bunnett and his
Partners a certain Sum towards such building provided the
Committee would agree to accept such Surrender and grant them
