Minutes of last Grand Comittee read & approved
Mr: Trear: Acccquainting the Comittee, that the
Workmen imployed in Altering the lower Front
of the First Court, having considered of the Roofing
of theover the New Front intended to be made there, are
of Opinion that if this Front be Carryed up Answerable
to the Front of the Wards in the Court, the Roofe will
be much too deep and will look very irregularly
and that twile be much more regular & Convenient
to have The Brickworkfromthere carryed up Two
Storeys with a Battlement & Stone Covin, And
Mr. Calcutt the Carpr : Mr: Cartwright the Mason
Mr: Smith the Bricklayer , & Mr: Hathway Plumber
being called in and discoursed with by the
Comittee, and they having Viewed the sd Front
and Considered the Matter, Doe Order that the sd
Front be Carryed up Two Storeys high with a Stone
Covin, without Pilasters, and that Stock Bricks
be used in the sd Front, and Sath Windows And
that the Stepps out of the First Court into the
Middle Court be of Purbeck Stone with Astricall
Mouldings, And Mr: Trear is desired to give
direccons for the doeing thereof and it is left
to Mr: Trear to order the Setting up a Stone Pillar
in the Midle of the Passage out of the sd First Court
into the Midle Court, if he shall think it propper.

Ordered that the Butler be removed [..] into
the Crosse Building where the Alteracons are now
making as soon as the Rooms there & the Cellar
