Mr. Lacey St. Thomas. Hospital 25 Feby 1802
The Receiver having represented to the Treasurer that the
has made repeated Application to you for the Payment of half
a Year rent due at Michmas I & 2, without Effect; I have
now to inform you that if you do not pay the same on or
before the 6th of March, legal measures well be taken for
inforceing the Payment. I am your humble Sevr.

Mr Chapman presents his Compt. to Mr. Bushnan
and acquaints him that the offer made by Mr Crowther on behalf
of the City for the Houses belonging to St. Thomas Hospital will
be submitted to the Consideration of the Grand Committee of the
said Hospital on Wednesday next. Mr. Chapman, as Treasurer,
having very With to promote the greatest Harmony between
the Corporation of the City and the Governors of the Hospital very
much regrets the Popabably of their being obliged to submit
any Point at I have to the decision of a Jury, & hopes the City
will be disposed to amend their offer on Wednesday next, as
Mr. Chapman is persuaded the Grand Committee will not think
themselves surtified in accepting the Sum of £4804.6.. - as
proposed by Mr Crowther-

Sir St. Thomas, Hospital, 2 March 1802
I had uncent when the Treasurer handed me your Letter of
the 22d. Alt. that he purposed writing to your in Answer to at himself,
but as he has not yet found Terme to do at, I think it rest to inform
you that your Remittance of £66. for took in Arrears came for
& well be placed to the Credit of your Account.

I am a paid, as the Writtings till has is and to be a Tenant of the
Hospital,& seriously objects to enter into any Companion for the
Insurance but he Buildings that the Expence will fall upon the Hospl.
There certainly is no lease, not minute a Grant, but there posbably
was serve Agreement made between him of Mr. Freeman on what a
lease was to be founded, as I send in at the Rental the Evley in the
Hand writing of the late Treasurer Mr Jeffries;
'' Mr. Writtings tall fo the white House, & two Closes of about 5 Acres
" & two small Springs to get the wath about 2 acres taken from the Cock same in
" the white about 7 Acres from Michaelmas 1783 for 21 years at £10. clear rent,
" to lay out £100..11now whether then or may Seven was expended in [..]
