Take Notice that Ireland to
appeal to the next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace
to be holden for the County of Middlesex against a Conviction
made by you on the eighteenth Day of October now Instant
whereby I Hand convicted upon the Oath of a Credible Witness
for that I did on a certain Turspike Road in the Parish of
Tottenham in the County of Middlesex unlawfully as or cause
to be used a Cart of which I was then the Owner on the
eleventh day of October instant without having first pansted
my Christian and Sirname and peace of Abode in large
leyible Letters contrary to the Statute EtcBy Reason
whereof you the said Humphry Jackson< no role > did order and
require are to pay the Sum of four Pounds for the said
Offence within the Fine prescribed by the statute in that
Case made and provided as appears by a certain paper
Writing or Order given under your Hand and Seal the
eighteenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and
ninety nine And you are hereby required to take notice
that I do hereby assign the Grievance and cause of complaint
to be that the said Conviction is illegal insufficient and
not apportable by Law inasmuch as it did not sufficiently
appear in Evidence before you that I did on any Turnpike
Road in the Parish of Tottenham in the County of
Middlesex unlawfully use or cause to be used a Cart of
which I was there the Owner on the eleventh day of
October instant without having first painted thereon
