The Order of William Brodie< no role > and John
Nares
< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County one whereofoneis
of the Quorum, and both residing next unto the Limits
of the Parish Church within the Parish of Saint Lukes
in the said County
made the Thirty first Day of July In the
Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and ninety nine concerning a Female
Bastard Child, lately born in the Parish of Paint Lukes
aforesaid, of the Body of
Mary Court< no role > Single Woman

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Complaint
of the Church-Wardens and Overssers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint
Luke as upon the Oath of the said Mary Court< no role >
that she the said Mary Court on the EighthDay of
May Now last past, was delivered of a Female Bastard Child, [..] in Cupid's
Court in the said Parish of Saint Luke in the said
County and that the said female Bastard Child is [..] chargeable
to the said Parish of Saint Luke and further, that Richard Bignall< no role >
of High Holborn in the said County Labourer did beget the said
Bastard Child on the Body of her the said Mary Court and Whereas
the said Richard Bignall< no role > having appeared before Us in pursuance of [..] our
Summons for that purpose and not having sheen sufficient Causetowhy he
the said Richard Bignall< no role > should not be adjudged the putative father of the said Child

We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as
well upon the Oath of the said Mary Court as otherwise, do hereby
adjudge him the said Richard Bignall< no role > to be the reputed Father of the
said Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do order, as well for the better Relief of the said Parish of
Saint Luke as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that
the said Richard Bignall< no role > shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause to be paid to the said Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Saint Luke or to some or one of them, the Sum of Two Shillings
for and towards the [..] the Main-
tenance of the said Bastard Child, to the time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further order, that the said Richard Bignall< no role > shall likewise
pay, or cause to be paid, to the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint Luke for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Two Shillings and Six pence Weekly and every Week from the present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentation, and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, for and during so long
Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Luke

And we do further order, that the said Mary Court< no role > shall also pay
or cause to be paid to the said Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint Luke for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Six Pence Weekly and every Week, so long as the said Bastard Child
shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Luke in case the shall not nurse
and take care of the said Child herself.

Given under our Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
