The Examination of Daniel Johnson< no role > rogue and Vagabord
taken [..] before one John Hatchett< no role > Esq one of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the Said County this Twenty second
day of December in the Year from and one thousand Seven hundred
and Ninety Eight

Who [..] Saith that he came from
Emdon in Germany about Seven Years aged and from thence to
Manater and from thence to Rotterdam and from thence he
went on Board the Shif Bracola, the Captains name Hortus
bound to Williamstad, was taken Prisoner two year [..] and Confined Eighteen
Months off Plymonth in a Prison Ship) was then discharged, and
for these last six Months he has ever since been begging first
at Basingstoke , where he staid only one night, but could not tell
the name of the People, or what home be lodged that might in
neither can be give any satisfactory Account of himself or Where he as been
lodged since he left Basingstoke and declards that he
has never been Molested before this day, by any of the Parish
Officers, or others since he was discharged from Plymouth
