Agnes Holiman< no role >
for an Assault

Ann Pugh< no role > of Chemis Street Bedford Square in
the County of Middlesex Widow the above Defendant maketh
oath and saith that a Bill of Indictment was preferred
and found against her for and assault at the last Session of
the Peace for the County of Middlesex and this Deponent being
taken into Custody by virtue of a Warrant grounded thereon
she did personally appear the same Session and pleaded
thereto Not Guilty and entered into Sureties for her appearance
to try her traverse upon such Indictment at the present
Session And this Deponent further saith that she was
very desirous to try such traverse and that she applied
to her Sollicitor to take the necessary Steps for that
purpose And that she gave him the Names of her Witness
in order to issue a Subpoena and enter a Venire in due
time but that after the most diligent enquiry she was
unable to find out the place of abode of one Mrs. Chambers
a material Witness for this Deponent and without whose
Testimony she cannot safely proceed to the trial thereof
and saith that in Consequence thereof such subpoena
(as she is informed) has not been issued nor has
any Venire been entered And lastly saith that
