That your Petitioner was on or about the
Twenty seventh day of June last Convicted in the Penalty
of Five pounds by
Patrick Colquhoun< no role >
Esquire
one of the
Justices of the Peace
for the said County upon an Information
Exhibited and Prosecuted by
James Bradley Pegler< no role >
charging
that your Petitioner then using and excercising the Trade
and business of a Pawnbroker did in the Parish of Saint
Luke
in the said County on the seventeenth day of June
in the Year of our Lord 1797 take and receive of and from
one
Mary Elizabeth Clarke< no role >
by way of Pawn or Pledge
a child Petticoat and Bed Gown and did then and
there advance and lend thereon to the said
Mary
Elizabeth Clark< no role >
the Sum of six pence of lawfull Money of
Great Britain she the said Mary Elizabeth Clarke
being and then and there appearing to be made the
age of Twelve Years Contrary to the Statute Etc
That your Petitioner conceives himself agrieved
by such Conviction and is advised to appeal against the
same
Your Petitioner therefore humbly
prays your worships will be pleased to
permit him to enter his said appeal
so that the same may be heard at
this present General Quarter Session
of the Peace and that your worships
will be pleased to appoint a Day for
hearing and determining the same
