Sheweth
That by Indenture bearing date the 28th. day of March
1792 the said
Thomas Purden< no role >
the Younger, did put himself
Apprentice to
Samuel Player< no role >
of Tabernacle Square
Old Street
in the Parish of Saint Leonard
in the County of Middlesex
Carver and Gilder to learn his Art, and with him after
the manner of an Apprentice to serve from the day of the
date of the said Indenture, for and during the Term of Seven
Years, And the said Master in Consideration of the Sum of
Twenty one pounds paid to him by the said
Thomas Purden< no role >
the Elder the Receipt whereof he did thereby acknowledge
his said Apprentice in the same Art did Agree to teach
and Instruct. And to find unto the said Apprentice
sufficient Meat Drink Washing and Lodging during the
said Term, As by the said Indenture when referred to
will appear
That the said Thomas Purden< no role >
the Younger
hath
served near four Years of the said Term, And that for a
Considerable time Past, the said Samuel Player< no role >
, hath
paid little or no Attention to his Apprentices, hath kept
them from time to time Unemployed. And from the
derangement of his Affairs frequently threatne'd to run away
and leave them. And the said Samuel Player< no role >
did actually
on or about the 26th. day of November last, from such his
Situation. Sell up his Effects, and leave the said Thomas
Purden< no role >
the Younger, and his other Apprentices to shift for
themselves, without food or even a bed to lye on, or any him
of necessarys whatever
