To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace acting in and for the County of Middlesex in
General Session of the Peace for the said County
Assembled.

The Humble Petition and Appeal of Joseph Brown< no role >
an Inhabitant of de Parish of Isleworth in the County of Middlesex

Sheweth


That by a certain Rate or Assessment made for the relief of
the Poor of the said Parish of Isleworth in the said County of Middlesex on the
Twenty ninth day of October One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety five
Your Petitioner and many other Inhabitants and Occupiers of Houses and Lands
in the said Parish are in and by the said Rate or Assessment charged or assessed
several Sums of Money for the Relief of the Poor of the said Parish

That your Petitioner is charged towards the said Relief at the
Sum of forty Eight Pounds as and for the Yearly Rent of a certain Messuage or an
Tenement and Premises in his occupation situate in Hounslow in the said
Parish of Isleworth whereas your Petitioner apprehends he ought not to be charged
in the said Rate or Assessment at any greater Rent than the Yearly Rent of
Fourteen Pounds for and in respect of the said Messuage or Tenement and
Premises being the Rent which your Petitioner now pays and has paid
from Lady Day One Thousand Seven hunderd and Nienty two for the said
Messuage or Tenament and Premises by Virtue of an Indenture of Lease
to him thereof.

That Your Petitioner is charged in and by the said Rate or
Assessment much more than several other Persons inhabiting in the said
Parish in proportion to the yearly Rent of the Messuages or Tenament
and Premises they respectively occupy in the said Parish are charged in
and by the said Rate or Assessment and in particular Your Petitioner
is charged much more than Thomas Hiscock< no role > , John Innwood< no role > and Thomas
Bristow
< no role > named in the said Rate and who severally inhabit and occupy
