The King (on the Prosecution of Wright
and Others)

against

The Inhabitants of Saint Mary
Islington (for not repairing Maiden Lane)

of Guild hall Yard London Gentlemen
severally make Oath as follows And first
this Deponent William Payne< no role > for himself
saith that at the General Session of the Peace
holden in and for (this County on the twenty
fourth Day of May in the thirty third Year
of the Reign of his present Majesty the
Inhabitants of the said Parish of Saint Mary
Islington were found guilty of a Nuisance in
not repairing a certain Part of the Comman
Kings Highway called Maiden Lane and
this Deponent further saith it appears
that Recognizance were entered into for
the appearance of the Defendants which
have upon Motion been respited from
June to Time And this Deponent
further saith that as the Charges and
Expences of repairing the said Highway
will amount to a very considerable Sum
of Money the Committee of the said Inhabitants
of the said Parish of Saint Mary Islington
have agreed to apply to Parliament for an
Act to enable them to raise Funds for that
Purpose And this Deponent John
Coleman
< no role > for himself saith that the necessary
Notice of such intended Application to
Parliament has been Published in the County
Paper in the Month of September last and
that he this Deponent did on Wednesday the
twenty second Day of October Instant affix 'd
true Copy of the Notice here to annexed on the
