The King on the Prosecution of Cornelius
Oneil

Thomas Bates< no role > of Oxford Street in the Parish of Saint
Mary lebone in the County of Middlesex Auctioneer Maketh
Oath and Saith that Indictments having been preferred
against Humphry Goodwin< no role > Nicholas Porter< no role > and John Hackwell< no role >
at the last December Sessions held at Hicks's Hall for the
County of Middlesex for Nusances Committed by them in placing
their Carts Etc with Vegetables to for Sale in Oxford Street
aforesaid and the said Humphry Goodwin< no role > Nicholas Porter< no role > and
John Hackwell having been found Guilty and Fined and
this Deponent afterwards meeting with the above named
Cornelius Oneil< no role > standing with a Baskett of Fish before him
for Sale in Oxford Street aforesaid on the second day after such
Conviction, in the same part of Oxford street where the said
Nusances had been committed this Deponent requested the
said Cornelius Oneil to desist from selling his said Fish in
the before mentioned Place and to leave the same and at [..]
same time saying to the said Conelius Oneil that he will
knew he had no right to stand there and this Deponent then
asked the said Cornelius Oneil his name to which the said
Cornelius Oneil made no answer but till remained with
his said Baskett of Rish in the before mentioned Place this
Deponent did (as he conceived be had a right to do by Law)
overthrow the said Fish without using any violence And
this Deponent further faith that the above Indictment
having been preferred against this deponent for an assault
and which assault this Deponent apprehends to be the
Removal of the said Fish this Deponent hath made enquiry
of every Person whom he thought could give him Information
of the place of abode of the said Cornelius Oneil in order to give
the laid Cornelius Oneil native of this Deponents appearing on the
first day of the present Sessions to take his Tryal Further said
Assault but this Deponent did not until Saturday last know
the residence of the said Cornelius Oneil when the said Cornelius
Oneil last at this Deponents House a direction in writing of his
place of abode
