Defendant maketh Oath and Saith that he this Deponent at the General Session of the
Peace held for the County of Middlesex
at the Session House in and for the said County
in the Month of May last pleaded Not Guilty to an Indictment against him for
Assaulting Mary Hill< no role >
and entered into a Recognizance with Sureties for his personal
Appearance at the then next General Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden for the
said County to prosecute his Traverse with Effect on the said Indictment And this
Deponent further saith that he meant and intended to have appeared at such next
General Quarter Session of the Peace and to have prosecuted his Traverse with Effect and
taken his Trial on the said Indictment And this Deponent saith that about the
Nineteenth-day of June instant he looked into One of the Almanacks for the present
year and found that the next General Quarter Session of the Peace was in such
Almanack mentioned to be held for the said County on Monday the eighth day of July
next and this Deponent intended to have given Notice for this Deponents Trial on the
said Indictment for the said eighth day of July next And lastly this Deponent
saith that he did not after he had so pleaded to the said Indictment receive any
Information neither did this Deponent know that the said General Quarter
Session of the Peace [..] was to be held for the said County on Thursday the twenty
fifth day of June instant at any time previous to that Day.
