of the Poor of the Parish of Hanworth aforesaid on the Sixteenth day of March
last made an Assessment or Rate for the relief and maintenance of the
Poor of the said Parish being the first Rate at One Shilling in the Pound
for the present Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety two. That
the Petitioner was by the said Assessment or Rate charged with the Sum of
Seven Pounds and Ten shillings for part of the Estate and Property he occupied
in the said Parish and also the Sum of Four Shillings for Coney Close the
remaining part of the Property he held in the said Parish. That the Sum of
Seven Pounds and Ten shillings was a greater Sum than he ought to be
Charged with and was thereby greatly overrated and aggrieved because he
humbly conceived that he ought not to be charged or assessed at more than
Three Pounds instead of Seven Pounds and Ten shillings And that so
much of the Estate and Property in the aforesaid Parish in his Occupation
subject or liable to be assessed or rated to the Poor of the said Parish in his Occupation
exceed Sixty Pounds and was not of the Amount of One Hundred and Fifty
Pounds. That the above Assessment or Rating of the Petitioner at the Sum of
Seven Pounds and Ten shillings was unequal and disproportionate with the
Rating and Assessing of other Persons in the said Parish of Hanworth
whereby the Petitioner conceived himself aggrieved, and for the reasons
aforesaid appealed against the said Rating and Assessment as to the Charge
of Seven Pounds and ten shillings therein charged on him Now upon
hearing the said Appeal and what hath been alledged by the respecitve
parties their Counsel and Witnesses in and concerning the Premises It is
Ordered that the said Rate or Assessment so far as concerns the said
Munbee Goulburn< no role > for and in respect of the said Messuage or Mansion House
Gardens Lands and Offices thereunto belonging in the said Petition and
Appeal mentioned be altered and amended in relief of the said Hunbee
Goulburn by Rating and Charging him in and by the said Rate or
Assessment at the Sum of Sixty pounds as and for the Yearly Rent or Value of
the said Messuage or Mansion House Gardens Lands and Offices.
