Articles of Agreement
Indented made Concluded and fully agreed upon this
twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord
Due House and Seven hundred and Eighty Eight
Between Richard Graves< no role > Esquire of Hembury Fort
in the county of Devon Captain in His Majestys
Royal Navy and William Mutter< no role > of the Strand in
the County of Middlesex of the one part and Thomas
Lingbam
< no role > of the Stand in the said County of
Middlesex Breeches and Waistcoat Manufacturer of the
other part

Witness that the said William Mutter< no role > by and with the
Consent and approbation of the said Richard Graves< no role > his Friend
testified by his being party to and exceeding these presents hath
become bound and by these presents Doth bind himself to the said
Thomas Lingham< no role > as his Articled or Apprenticed Servant for and
[..] the full Term of Seven Years from the date hereof during all
with said Term be use said William Mutter< no role > his Said Master
well and faithfully shall serve in and about the said Trade and
Business of a Breeches and Waistcoat Manufacturer and in all
Matters and things relating thereto his secrets keep and his lawful
Commands very where do He shall not nor will do nor lawfully
suffer to be done by any other person or persons any hurt or injury
to his said Master brot to the best of his ablity present the same
or give Notice thereof to his said Master He shall not nor will at
any time absent himself from his said Masters Service without the
leave of his said Master but shall and will in All Matters and
things behave himself towards his said Master during the said term
as a good and faithful Apprentice and these Presents
further Witness that the said Thomas Lingham< no role > Hath accepted
and doth hereby accept and take the said William Mutter< no role > as his
Apprentice for the Tern aforesaid And also for and in Consideration
