For An Assault

Meyrick Williams< no role > of Church Lane in the Parish of Saint
Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex Shopkeeper and
Thomas Swiney< no role > Clerk to Mr. John Lloyd< no role > Solicitor for defendant of
Grays Inn in the County of Middlesex Gentleman Severally
make Oath and Say And first this Deponent Meyrick Williams< no role >
for himself Saith that he is Informed and believe that he this
[..] Deponent was Indicted in December
Sessions last Past for an Assault by the above Named
prosecutor and which Bill this Deponent is Informed and
believes was found True, And this Deponent Saith that he
Pleaded to the said Indictment Not Guilty and Put in
Bail thereon [..] January Sessions last And this Dept.
for himself further Saith that he is not able upon the
most diligent Inquiry to gain an Knowledge of the above
named Prosecutor's Place of Abode In order to Serve
him with a Notice of Trial for this Present Sessions But
this Deponent is Informed and believe that the said
Prosecutor Thomas Boss< no role > is a common Sharp upon the
Town and hopes that he will be able to Prove that no
Assaulted was committed on him And this Deponent
Thomas Swiney for himself Saith that According to
Several Informations given this Deponent he this Dept.
[..] diligent Search and Inquiry after the said Thomas
Boss
< no role > at several Places Particularly at the House of one
Mr Price a Publican in Covent Garden In order to serve
him with a Notice of Trial for this Present Session But
this deponent was not able to See or fined him out In order
to Serve him with Such Notice
