MIDDLESEX .


At the GeneralSession of the Peace of our
Lord the King, holden in and for the County of Middlesex , at
the Session-House for the said County, ()
on Monday the eighth Day of December in the
Twenty ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
GEORGE the Third, King of Great Britain Etc, Before William
Mainwaring
< no role > , William Bleamire< no role > , George Allcock< no role > , John Staples< no role >
Esquires , and others their Fellows, Justices of our said Lord the
King, assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid; and
also to hear and determine divers Felonies, Trespasses, and other
Misdemeanours committed in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Hamlet of Hammersmith in the
parish of Fulham in the said County Have at this present Session Exhibited their petition and
Appeal setting forth That by an Order or pass Warrant bearing date the 31st. day of October 1788 under the
Hands and Seals of Thomas Collins< no role > and Edward Webster< no role > Esquires two of his Majesties Justices of the
peace in and for the said County (one whereof being of the Quorum) Mary Caufield< no role > Singlewoman
aged about thirty nine Years was removed from the parish of Saint Marylebone in the said County
to the said Hamlet of Hammersmith in the parish of Fulham aforesaid as the place of her last legal
settlement whereby the petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing the said Appeal
and what hath been alledged by the respective Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
Hamlet and parish their Counsel and Witness in the concerning the premises It is Ordered that
the said Appeal be and the same is hereby dismissed and the said Order or pass Warrant of the said
two Justices is hereby Confirmed And it is further Ordered that the Churchwarden and
Overseers of the poor of the said Hamlet of Hammersmith do maintain, and provide for the said
Mary Caufield until they can free themselves from the charge thereof by due course of Law
