To the Worshipful Committee of Magistrates, Appointed
to Build a House of Correction in Cold Bath Fields ,
the following Questions relating to the Smith's Work
is with great humility submitted before their Board, by
their Worship's very Obedient Servants, Joseph Newsham< no role > ; Smith at
Chelsea

In the Particulars of the Chain Bars, follow, Stooks with single Eyes
ditto double ditto, ditto treble dittoof what description are they as to
Shape and Size of Iron.

In the Stair case work the Bars, to both Steps and Landings are to be
let through a bottom BailIs it meant to have the bottom Bail
rom in a parrallel him with the to Bail, Or is the bottom Bail to
be indented to the Steps so as to tie close thereon. Are each of the
fifth bars that go up to the Soffeat of the Steps in next landing to be
lest Square all the way up, or to be hammer'd eight square from above
the surface of the top Bail & will the stairs chiefly consist of Flyers
or Winders.Are the Bottom Bails wherever such are
used, to be purch'd with Square holes to let the cast bars through be
for those Bars to be leaded in the Stone, Or are they to be reveled
in the bottom Bail & plags at stated distances also reveled therein to for
them by
