The King agt. John Wooding< no role >
For a Fraud

James Nowlan< no role > of the Parish of Saint John Wapping
in the County of Middx Soapmaker the Prosecutor in this
Cause Maketh Oath & Saith That being defranded by
the above named John Wooding< no role > of a quality of Soap in
the Month of December last the said John Wooding< no role > was
afterwards taken into Custody in London and Committed
by the late Alderman Town and to take his Trial here
last Session for the said Offence And this Deponent Saith
That he this Deponent being then confined by illness he
[..] could not attend last Session to prefer a Bill of
Indictment against the said John Wooding< no role > and therefore
caused an Application to be made to the Court to
respite this Deponents Recognizance to this present
Session and the said John Wooding< no role > was afterwards
discharged out of Custody upon Bail An this Deponent
further Saith that Michael Mc Donald< no role > late Clerk to this
Deponent being as this Deponent was informed and believes
a Material Witness against the said John Wooding< no role > and
the said Michael Mc Donald< no role > having died about a
Month Since this Deponent was advised and beleived
that he could not with any Effect Proceed in the Prosecution
of the said John Wooding< no role > without the Testimony of the
said Michael Mc Donald< no role > & this Deponent therefore [..]
to apply to this Court to discharge this Deponents
Recognizance but this Deponent being on Saturday [..]
again advised that he could carry on the said Prosecution
against the said John Wooding< no role > without the Testimony
of the said Michael Mc Donald< no role > this Deponent
immediately gave directions for Preparing an
Indictment for that Purpose but this Deponent Saith
he hath been informed and beleives that the said
