"Township or Place they were directed to be delivered to, or set at Liberty in
"order that some Constable or other Person of this County may claim a Re-
"ward for apprehending such Rogues, Vagabons, or incorrigible Rogues; or
"whether such Rogues, Vagabonds, or incorrigible Rogues not sent or deli-
"vered by a Pass or Passes to a Constable of this County, have come out of his,
"her, or their direct Road into any Township of this County: And in Case
"any such Rogues, Vagabonds, or incorrigible Rogues, or any such Constable,
"or other Person shall, upon their Examination taken before any of his said
"Majesty's Justices, appear to have been guilty of any such fraudulent Practi-
"ces, such Justice is hereby desired to cause such Examination as aforesaid to be
"field with the Clerk of the Peace for the said County, and to commit such
"Rogue or Vagbond to one of the Houses of Correction for the said County
"until the next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held for the said
"County, to the Intent that the Persons who shall be guilty of such fraudulent
"Practices as aforesaid may be properly punished for the same.

"And it is also recommended to the said Justices, that they do, in Pursuance
"of the Statute in that Case made and provided, cause every Rogue, Vagabond,
"or incorrigible Rogue, brought before them respectively, to be searched, and his
"or her Bundles to be inspected: And if it shall appear that he or she have suffi-
"cient wherewithal to pay for his, her, or their Passage or Conveyance, in Whole
"or in Part, that then such Justice or Justices shall order so much of the Money
"to be paid, or other Effects found on such Rogue, Vagabond, or incorrigible
"Rogue, to be sold, and employed towards the Expence of apprehending or con-
"veying such Rogue, Vagabond, or incorrigible Rogue, returning the Overplus
"after deducting the Charge of such Sale.

"It is likewise recommended to the said Justices, that they do cause all
"Rogues, Vagabonds, and incorrigible Rogues not coming by Passes, and who
"shall be apprehended wandering and begging in the said County of Chester , to
"be punished, by being sent to the House of Correction , there to remain until
"the next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden for the said County,
"or for such shorter Time as such Justice or Justices shall think proper; or other-
"wise to be publicly whipt, pursuant to the Statute in that Case made and pro-
"vided, before any Pass is granted for the conveying or such Rogues, Vaga-
"bonds, or incorrigible Rogues; And such Justice or Justices are hereby desired
"not to grant any Certificate whereby a Constable or Master of the House of
"Correction may be entitled to receive a Reward or Recompence for conveying
"any such Rogues, Vagabonds, or incorrigible Rogues, until such Rogues, Va-
"gabonds, or incorrigible Rogues have been punished as the Law directs; and
"the said Justice or Justices are desired to insert in the said Order or Certifi-
"cate that such Punishment has been inflicted as aforesaid."
