The humble Petition and Appeal of the Churchwardens
and overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint
Alphage near Sion College in the City of London

Sheweth

That by virtue of an Order under the Handsand Seals
of Sir Tampson Wright Knight and James Paine< no role > Esquire
two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
(one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the thirteeth
day of September one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five

Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the said County of Middlesex
unto the said Parish of Saint Alphage near Sion College
adjudging the said Parish of Saint Alphage near Sion
College to be the place of her last legal Settlement wherby your
Petitioners conceive themselves aggrieved

Your Petitioners therefore humbly Appeal to
this Court against the adjudication of the said
two Justices and their said Order and pray
that a day may be appointed by this Court
for the hearing and determining this appeal and
that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Saint Clement Danes
and all Persons concernd be ordered then to
attend this Court to hear and abide the Judgmt.
