To the Worshipful His Majesties Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex in their general Quarter Session
at Hicks Hall assembled.

The humble Petition of William Thomas< no role >

Sheweth


That by an Act of Parliament pass'd in the Reign
of his present Majesty King George the third, for
the further and better regulation of Buildings and
Party Walls, and for the more effectually preventing
Mischiefs by fire, within the Cities of London and
Westminster , and other precincts and places therein men
=tioned, Certain persons skilld in the Art of Building
are to be nominated and appointed Surveyors to see
the rules and regulations in the said Act mentioned,
well and truly observ'd,

The your petitioner has been yearly brought up
in the Building branch and perfected in
that Art under the Tuition and in the Service
of the Messrs. Adam of the Adelphi Architects

That your Petitioner humbly presumes himself qualified
for undertaking and performing the intended employment
of a Surveyor under the Said Act,
