On the Prosecution of
James Hooper< no role > for Petit Larceny

James Hooper< no role > of Edgware Road in the County of
Middlesex Victualler the Prosecutor above named maketh Oath and
saith that he this Deponent entered into a Recognizance before
Justice Frique He Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
the County of Middlesex at Edgware Road aforesaid to prosecute the
above named Defendant at the December Session last But this
Deponent further saith that he not having any Notice and being
intirely ignorant of the Rules and Practice of this Honorable Court
thought no Consequence would ensue until he this Deponent
receiv'd the Latter hereunto annexed And this Deponent farther
saith that he put the said Defendant into the Hands of Francis
Wright
< no role > one of the Constables of the Parish of Saint Mary le bone
is take the said Defendant to Newgate by the Order of Justice
Triquotte the said Defendant made her Escape from him And
this Deponent saith he made diligent search after the said
Defendant and having intelligence where the said Defendant
Lodged desired the said Francis Wright< no role > to go to Paddington [..]
to take her and upon Entering the Room found the said Defendant
and insisted on her to go with him is Newgate, but on her Road
made a second Escape from the said Constable and this Deponent farther saith that
it is thro' notice ignorance and not with any intention to present Justice that he cannot find the said Dependant [..]

Sworn in open Court at the Quarter Session
of the Peace held at the new Session House Clerkenwell
in the County of Middlesex this 30th. Day of April 1783}
