The Humble Peticon of John Cox< no role > on the behalf
of Phillip Grice< no role > his Son in Law

Sheweth


That on the nineteenth day of December in the Year of our Lord 1701
the said Phillip Grice< no role > was Put forth an Apprentice to Thomas Smith< no role > of St
Clement Danes Poulterer for the Term of Seven Years

That Yor. Petr did Covenant wth: the said Master to find the said Apprentice
Necessary Appwell of all fort during the said Term

That about Two Years Since the said Master Died & his widow not
Following the Trade the Apprentice went to Sea in Her Maties: Service
where he now remaines And the widow of the said Thomas Smith< no role >
haveing taken no Care to fitt out the said Phillip Grice< no role > or to Provide
any thing for him

Your Pett there fore humbly Prayes (the
Prmisses considered) that this Court will be
Pleased to Order Anne< no role > the widow of the said Thomas
Smith
< no role > to appeare in this Court four day this
Session to shew cause why she should not
delivers up the Indenture of Apprentice hood
for that the Said Phillip Grice< no role > may be
discharged
