in this Cause maketh Oath, that on Munday the one & twentieth day
of this instant Aprill, the said Captaine Maynard informed this Depont.
that he was then comanded to go forth with to his Post at Tilbury Fort where his Compony
was to be ru [..] tered this week, and that he should be obliged to stay-
there Seven or eight days at least if not longer, & he desired Depont.
to endeavour the putting of the sd. John Bevans< no role > Tryall, of wch, he had-
notice but that very day: And Depont. then saw the said Captaine
Maynard take Coach in ordr. to go downe to the said Fort. And this
Depont. further Sayth that he hath taken forth two Bench Warrts.
agt. the sd. Brampston & Thomas, but by reason of their ab [..] ding
Depont. could not procure them to be appreheaded, tho he hath used
his at most endeavoure for that purpose, & they are Indicted for the same
offence.
