On the Prosecution of William Boulton< no role > for
Petit Larceny in Stealing fifteen or Sixteen Pounds Weight of
Red Lead his Property

William Boulton< no role > of Leather Lane in the Parish of Saint Andrew
Holborn in the County of Middlesex Painter and Emanuel Martin< no role >
of Great Warner Street in the Parish of Saint James Clerkenwell &
County aforesaid, Coachmaker severally Make Oath & Say That on or about the
Twentieth day of July last they Entered into Recognizance at the
Rotation Office in Litchfield Street before one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the said County, the Deponent William Boulton< no role > to Prosecute
and the other Deponent Emanuel Martin< no role > to give Evidence against
the abovenamed Hugh Mc Daniel< no role > for the abovenamed Offence
at the then next General Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden
at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in and for the said County
And these Deponents further severally Say That one Tuesday the
twelfth Day of September last being the second Day of the Session
they applied to Mr. Johnson one of the Clerks of the Indictments
at his Office at Hicks Hall aforesaid for an Indictment against
the said Hugh Mc Daniel forfeit Larceny which Mr Johnson
or his Clerk accordingly made out and for which this Deponent
William Boulton< no role > paid him two Shillings and then these Deponent
went with the same into Court and were Sworn by a Young Man
whom this Deponent William Boulton< no role > has since been informed is
the Deputy Cryer of the Court and for which this Deponent William
Boulton
< no role > paid him Eight pence and then these Deponents both
went into the Yard behind the Court And this Deponent William
Boulton
< no role > further Saith that after waiting about half an Hour he
was called into the Grand Jury Room and was examined before
the Grand Jury as to the Felony Charged in the said Indictment
and after giving his Testimony one of the Gentlemen of the Grand
Jury asked this Deponent if he had not got a Witness when
he told him he had and that such Witness was at the Door But
Saith that the other Deponent Emanuel Martin< no role > was not called
