Rogue and Vagabond taken on Oath before me
One of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the
said County this Thirty first Day of
July in the Year of our Lord 1769.
Who on Oath saith, That he was born at
Newport in Shropshire where he
kept house & Shop as a Butcher
and held Land of his own and that
he never did any Act to gain a
Subsequent Settlement to his knowledge
