on Saturday three Weeks about Eleven o'Clock at Night
he with Thos Burn< no role > went to the Horse Shoe Alehouse in Bayn
brigg Street where Thos Morgan< no role > the deceast was in Com-
pany with Others whose Names he knows not sayth
they drank two pints of Beer till towards one o'Clock
When the Wittness & the deceast came out in order
to go Home That there was no disturbence in the
House but cannot Say the Deceast was very
Sober That in going Home the Wittness had On
Occasion the Ease Himself and they both went
into a Court there where one Dunn Keeps a Lodging
House The Door was open and he saw a Man upon
the Stairs with a Candel in his Hand who cry'd
out who is there The Wittness answer'd there is a
Friend he was asked what he want'd & the Wittn-
-ess answer'd to ease Himself the Man reply'd
they would ease Him, don't under standingwhat
was meant by the Expression That two Man
soon afterwards came out of the House one of
whom was Dunn & the other Braning but
known' not there Christian Names That Dun
came out first with a Stick in his Hands & Stru [..]
the Deceast with it over the Head without
speaking to him That Branning then came up
& made a Blow at Morgan he imagine itt to
be a stick but can't be positive That then two
or three Others came out of the same House upon
which the Witness went away & left Morgan
there which is all that He [..] knowes [..]
