Elizabeth Goulding< no role > Servant to Mr. Carteret the Deceased
Saith she Lived will the Deceased Eight Months last Wednesday

That she had no Mistress Only an House keeper One Mr. Halgen
That the Deceased was a Widower

That on Whitsunday Mr. Halgen Packed up all his Cloaths and
went off about Seven in the MorningThat he had
Lain that Night with his WifeThat he bid Informant
good Bye But Looked very sulky

That Informant thought him a very good natured Man and
a good Husband and never knew him and his Wife have
any words togetherThat Informant did not expect
to see him again But about Dinner time on that Sunday
he returned [..] That the Deceased and his Daughter (about
Nine Years old) and Mrs. Halgen were at Dinner and Halgen
Sat down with them and Informant Believes he Eat

That when Informant went up to take the Cloth away there
was a good deal of Quarrelling between Halgen and his Wife

That he Called her a Bitch and said she had Pawned his Plate
and Pawned his CloathsThat Mr. Carteret the Deceased
Endeavoured to make Peace if he could

That about three or four Clock Halgen went out and Left
the Deceased with his Wife in the Parlour on the Ground Floor
That Informant was in the Kitchen below and dont know
what Halgen said when he went Out
That he had his Stick in his Hand
That about an hour afterwards Halgen returned by himself
That he was in Liquor and as soon as he Came in he said
to Informant "Betty where's the Where my Wife" That
