Captn . Josiah Hindman< no role > an Inhabt. of Shoreditch to which
parish in Moorfields , he Retired from Business, on Accot. of
his Age & Infirmitws having hew in the Judio Service many years
and having an Pass fortune Sufft. to Carry him the Life
is a Gentleman of Execedg. Good Character and always pays his
Taxes & near suffers an Officer to come twice and is a very quiet
Inhabt. & near troubles himself abt. Parish Business nor gives any
trouble whatsoever to ye parishrs.

To his great her prize the Captn. last Night recd ye Annexed
Notice Signed by same ye Ch: wardens & some Inhabts. of Shoreditch
purpert. that he haog or ye. 15 Janry last been duly Appointed
one of the Headbow's of the Liberty of Moorfields in sd. Parish
and that he is required to attend the Justices at ye prefact session
held by Adjournment at Hicks Hall on Sat. next at 10 forenoon
to his being Sworn into ye sd. Office dated ye 10 Febr 1767
The Captn. is in Court, hopes they heat preoait in their Apple.
he never herd any Notice previous to his Appointmt.

He is 66 years old & very infirm
continually All lieted with ye Govt Etc.
And totally incapable of Doing or performs any office
and thats well known to the Officers, who only want to frighten
him out of a Sum of Money called Fine which they take to Excuse
from Office

Please to Consider w: you put them to any proof as to the
Notice or Right of Election on sd. 15th Janury by whom & without Notice
to Inhabt. to give his Reasons agt. his being Appointed

Upon ye whole please to oppose the Applie for him being Sworn
