To the Constables& Churchwardens& Headboros
within the Parish of St. Sepulchre in the County
of Middx . and to all others whom these may
Concern.

Whereas Rd. Bacon< no role > one of the Householders within
the said Parish Stands Convicted before me one of
the Justices of the Peace for the County afd. of having
contrary to the Statute in that behalf made Neglected & omitted to set or hang out a Candle or
light in a Lanthorn on the outside of his house next
the Street to enlighten the same for the conveniency
of Passengers from time to timeOn Asas it grew dark
until 12 of the Clock in the night on twenty certain Nights between Michs. last & our Lady Day last
(the said Rd B. not having agreed to make use of Lamps
of any Sort to be placed at such Distances in the Street
as should be approved of by two or more Justices of the
Peace) whereby he hath forfeited the Sum of two
Shillings for every default amounting in the Whole
To 40s. the Moiety to the Use of the Poor of the same
Parish & the other Moiety to
who hath made discovery & Prosecution These are
therefore to Comand Youorsome or one of You to levy the
said Penalty by distress & Sale of the Goods & Chells
of the said Offender rendring to him the Surplusage And
foryourso doing this shall be your Warrt. Given
at Hicks Hall the Day of June 1766.
