Hicks Hall Sess. May 4th 1764

Gentlemanmakeand John Bossa< no role > of Poor Jeary Lane London Gentleman
severally make Oath as follows And first this Deponent Alexander
Goodwin
< no role > for himself saith That Sometime in November last past
one Richard Crawley< no role > being confined in Woodstreet Counter to
Answer one Thomas Oakley< no role > for Misdemeanor this Dept. at the
Request of the said Richard Crawley< no role > & relying on the good Character
he then bore & the innocency of the sd. Richard Crawley< no role > in respect of
the Charge then brought against him was prevailed upon to and
did together with one John Monday< no role > enter into the usual
Recognizance in the Penalty of Twenty pounds each for the appearance
of the said Richard Crawley< no role > at the then next Sessions of the peace
to be held for the County of Middlesex
And this Dept. saith That at the said then next Session's of the peace
aforesd. held at Hicks Hall in Decr. following at which time and place the said Richard Crawley< no role > ought to
have appeared pursuant to and in Discharge of the Recognizance
aforesaid he the said Richard Crawley< no role > was waiting at Hicks's
Hall aforesd. in readiness to enter his appearance if any Bill of
Indictment for the Misdemeanor afd, or any other Misdemeanor shod.
have been found against him & to defend himself therein according to
the [..] Course of the said Court, and whilst he the said Richard
Crawley
< no role > was so then and there Waiting as aforesd. he the said Richard
Crawley
< no role > was Surprized and taken by a Constable whose Name this Dept. has heard & believes to beBarrow
acting as this Dept. beleives under some Warrant granted on a Bill
of Indictment found against the said Richard Crawley< no role > at that
Sessions for Forgery with intent to defraud or some other Capital
Felony found and procured at the instance of the sd. Thomas Oakley< no role >
who did not as this Deponent is informed & beleives find or procure
to be found against the said Richard Oakley< no role > at that Sessions any bill
