very much in Liquor on Monday between ten and
eleven O' Clock, and fastened the Room Door after him
and coming to the Bedside said to Dept. how came you
not to beat Maccabe last Night, unless you get up to
Fight Maccabe I will be the Death of you, Deponent says
that he got up immediately and went with the Deced
to Mr. Brown's in Russell Street, and found said Nicholas
Maccabe

and Maccabe went from thence into the Long Fields
behind Montague House in the Parish of St. George Bloomsbury as Deponent believed to Fight, and were followed by

Deponent says that he was upon the Ground, and after
being get up, he heard the Deced say to Nicholas Maccabe< no role >
that was not fair, to strike the Man when he was down,
Upon which said Maccabe struck the Deced upon his
Head, but the Deced did not then return the Blow, Says
that said Maccabe and Deponent continued to fight some
time longer, until De [..] nent gave out, saying that he
would fight no more, Says that soon after Words happened
between said Nicholas Maccabe< no role > and the Deced, when
Maccabe said, Dam you, I will lich you and him
(meaning the Deponent, as Deponent believes) and
said Maccabe again Struck the Deced, upon which
Deced returned the Blow, and they there upon fought,
Deced having taken oF his Coat and Caltha Mary [..] , Deponent
says that he was taken away to be washed, leaving Maccabe
and Deced fighting, Says that in five or six Minutes
Deponent returned there, and found the Deced lying on
his Back on the Ground, Speechless, says That Edward

< no role > a Chairman took hold of the Deced's head, and
pulled it with all his Strength, and the Deced soon after
was able to Speak, and cried out, O my Neck, My Neck,
Draw out my Legs, Says that a Person (whom he was
in found was a Surgeon) bled the Deced, and Deced was
afterwards carried by four Men along the Fields towards
home, but Deponent being very Cold did not stay, and
went home before them, Says that he called upon the
