To Thomas Hurford< no role > Gentleman High Constable
of Finsbury Division and to all the Petty Constable
and Head boroughs within the same Division and
every of them.

Whereas Complaint and Information hath been
made upon Oath that divers loose idle and dis-
orderly persons and Vagabonds (chiefly Boys) do
frequently resort unto and unlawfully assemble
themselves at a void or waste piece of Ground
call'd the pack thread Ground situate in the parish
of St. Luke and remain there for a Considerable
space of time together un a riotous Manner
Gambling and making various outrages as
well on the Sunday as other Days To the great
disturbance of the Quiet neighbours and other
lawfully passing that way and whereby many
other Mischiefs are likely to ensue if the said
unlawful assembly is not Suppressed We this
Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said County
Do therefore in His Majesty's Name Command you
the said High Constable and such of the said Petty
Constables and Headboroughs as you shall think
necessary for this Service to go to the said Ground
at fit and proper times and apprehend & conduct such
Ill Disposed persons as you shall there find so
assembled or offending before the Justices of the Peace
at Hicks Hall to be dealt with according to Law
and cause some or one of the Neighbours particular

same to give his and their Evidence concerning the
persons you shall so find and their evil practises
aforesaid Given under our Hands & Seals the 19 th
Day of November 1763
