The Information of Tho Roberts< no role > Martha Swords< no role > & Will Prudey< no role >
taken before me one of his Majestys Justices of the
peace for the said County.

Who being Jointly & sevly on Oath say and first the Inf Tho Roberts< no role > for
himself saith That on Wednesday last on Rob. Kebel< no role > left
in the Tap soon of his Inf a Such coulg half a hundred weight
of Susu & a Parcel of Herrings which he was to send to Egham
in Sury and about one in the afternoon a Person now present
who calls him self Jas Paterson< no role > with a woman (as this Inf bels.
the person now Preset who calls himself his Wife) came
into the Inf house & had a Pint of Beer & soon went away &
this Inf Imediately mised the sd Parcels & pursued the sd
Man but sd. nor them find him but on his Return home he
was Informed that a Soldier had left a Parcel at the Don of the
other Inf Prudey & had ran away and upon this Inf going thru he
found the Parcel of [..] Gor which had been stole out of his home
afsd and then Inf Martha Swords for herself saith that on the
Wednesday afternoon she saw a person now present who
calls himself Jas Paterson sit down a such or the Bent
at the other Inf sd Prudey door & raw away & the Inf went in
& told Mr Prudey thereof and further saith that soon after the
said Paterson came by and this Inf ran into the sd. Prudey house
and told Ann and these Inft. Tho Roberts< no role > & Wm. Prudey< no role > Jointly sayfarther
says
that upon the Information of the sd. Martha they came out
of the house & they with and Person seized the sd. Jams. & soon
after a woman [..] the person now present came to and Claimed
the sd. Jams. as her husband & had under her Ann a Parcel of Herrings
which is the sd. Parcel stole from this Inf & the Inf. Tho:
Roberts
< no role > further saith than the sd. Parcel she had under her
Arm is the parcel of Herring stole from him & as he bels. by them
the sd. James Paterson< no role > & Ann< no role >
