Whereas At the General Quarter Session of the Peace holder for the County
Middx on Monday the Twelfth Day of this Instant July Thos. Benfield< no role > was
hied upon an Indictmt. for making an Assault upon & Beating Elizabeth
Pearce
< no role > his apprentice and was in form of Law acquitted thereof
Never the less it was by thesaidCourt there by and with the Const [..]
Whereas Complaint hath been made to
of the said Thos. Benfield< no role > & the said Eliza Piercy< no role > referred unto
us
two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and
for the County of Middlesex byto examine into all Matters of Compll of Elizabeth Piercy
being One of the Children of the Hospital for the Main
tenance and Education of exposed and deserted
Young Children and lately bound apprentice to
Thomas Benfield< no role > of Round Court Mutton Lane
in the parish of Saint Andrew Holbourn in the
County of Middlesex aforesaid Millener to Serve
him in his said Business until she should [..]
accomplish her Age of Twenty One Years (she or should be married
being now about Twelve Years of Age) and she the said Elizabeth Pierce< no role > now Complain [..] to us that her
said Master hath Sundry twice beat ill Treated misused her and praying
to be discharged from her said Apprentices hi [..]
for & upon of such Misusage And Whereas
the said Thomas Benfield< no role > being personally
present before Us the said Justices hath not
Denied the said Matter of Complaint We the said
Justices do therefore by the Concent of this d TB. think fit that the said
Apprentice should be discharged from his said
said Apprenticeship And do hereby order her
to be discharged Accordingly given under
