And that the said Petitioner contrary to his Expectation has
been charged the Sum of Five Pounds as and for his Proportion
Dividend or Rate for and towards the Support and Relief of the
Poor of the said Parish for the last twelve month which is much
More than he Ought to be charged with as he alledgedhumbly Apprehends
and is able to prove
and that he is able to prove is very Unequal and for more than he Ought
to pay in proportion to the Rest of the Inhabitants and that he
is and has been thereby greatly aggrieved in as much as the
Churchwardens of the said Parish have notwithstanding his Objection
thereto and Notice of his Intention to Appeal at the then next Ensuing
Sessions, on the 27th. Day of August last distrained and levyed that
Sum on the said Petitioner And further Setting forth in and by the
said Petition That he the said Petitioner is ready and Willing to
prove he is greatly Over rated and Aggrieved by being charged
with such on unusual and unequal rate from the rest of the
Parishioners of the said Parish And prayed relief in the premesAnd therefore humbly Appeals
to the Court farther And in the Premises and hopes they will
grant him such relief therein as the Notice of his [..]
Over due Consideration of the Matter require and as to the Court
shall seem meet
Whereupon it is Ordered by this Court at the
request of the said Petitioner that the benefit of the said Appeal
be saved unto him and that the hearing and determining of the
Matter of the said Appeal be and the same is hereby adjourned
Until the Next General Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden
for the said County of Middx and that the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Mary le Strand upon
Notice of this Order and all persons concerned do Attend the Court
of the said Next General Quarter session of the Peace to be holden
for the said County of Middlesex by Adjournment On Tuesday the
Twentieth Day of October Next at ten of the Clock in the Forenoon
to hear and Abide the Judgment and determination of the same
Court touching the said Appeal.
