the King holden at the Town Court House near Westmr Shall
in and for the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate
Church of St. Peter Westmr the City Borough and Town of
Westmr in the County of Middx and St Martin le Grand
London on Wednesday the Twenty Fifth day of March.
in the first Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Third King of Great Britain Etc Before

Balack< no role > William Timbrell< no role > Esquires & others their fellows
Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to keep the
Peace in the said liberty And also to hear & determine
divers Felonies Trespasses & other misdeeds committed
in the said Liberty

Whereas at the General Quarter Session of the Peace
of our Sovereign Lord the King held at the Town Court house
near Westmr hall in and for the said City and Liberty on Thursday
the Eighth day of January last past William Sheringham< no role > was &
Stands Indicted for a Nusance in the parish of St. Martin in the
Fields in the County of Middx And Whereas at the General Quarter
Session of the Peace of our said Lord the King held at the Town Court
House near Westmr hall in and for the said Liberty on Wednesday
the Twenty Fifth day of March last past in the Year aforesaid John
Sheringham< no role > who is Indicted by the Name of William Sheringham< no role >
came in his proper person in the said Court & having heard the said
Indictmentrea'd Sayd that he the said John who stands Indicted
here by the Name of William Pleads that his Name is John and
Saith that long before the said Indictment was preferred and at the
him of taking of the same and from thence until now he the sd
John was and yet is called and known by the Name of John to wit at
the parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid wherefore that the said
John is not called or known by his right Name of John in the
above Indictment he prays Judgement of the same Indictment
This Ordered by this Court that unless the prosecutor shall
within two days of the next General Quarter Session of the Peace
to be held for this Liberty make Replication to the said John's plea
of Misnomer that the said plea be allowed and the Indictment
Quashed
