Middlesex


At the General Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord
the King holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in
Saint John Street in the County aforesaid By Adjournment on
Thursday the Ninth Day of December in the Thirtieth year of
the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of
Great Britain Etc.

Information having been given to this Court that Divers loose Idle
and disorderly Persons being Common Players of Interludes have on Divers
Days for some Weeks last past assembled themselves together at Divers parts
in this County and on such Days such Persons for Hire Gain and Reward
did Act Represent and Perform and did cause to be Acted Represented and
Performed Divers Interludes Tragedies Commedies Operas Plays Farces
and other Entertainments of the Stage or some part or parts there in not
being Authorized by Law Therefore it is Ordered by this Court that

Gentleman High Consable of
Division go roundles said Division from time to time as often as Occasion shall
be and Inquire the truth of the Premises abovementioned And if he finds the
Information to be true that he forthwith for bid and use his utmost endeavour
to prevent the like for the future and if after that there should be any Person or
Persons offending in the like manner that the should see that the Act of Parliament
in the respect may be put in Execution and that the said Mr.
do report what he shall do in Pursuance of this Order to such of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex who shall meet at Hicks
Hall on the County day of the next General Quarter Session of the Peace to be
holden for the said County to the End that such further Order may be made
therein as shall be then thought necessary.
