To the Worshipfull his Majestys Justices of the peace for the County
of Middlesex in Quarter Session of the peace at Hicks hall
in and for the said County assembled

The humble Petition of the Church wardens and
Overseers of the poor of the Parish of St. Clement
Danes in the County of Middlesex

Sheweth


That Ann Cherrington< no role > This name instance is in set 949. This set is in the group(s): MothersCD . Singlewoman a Vagrant
not having a legal Settlement in the said Parish of St. Clement
Danes was on the 8th. Day of June last found wandering in
Labour in the said Parish of St. Clement Danes and being
carried to one of the Parish Nurses of the said Parish was on
the same Day delivered of a male bastard Child by means
whereof the Inhabitants of the said Parish were obliged
necessarily to Expend the Sum of Two Pounds Six Shillings &
two pence for the lying in and maintenance of the said Ann
Cherrington
< no role > and Child & other incident Expences

And that in pursuance of an Act of Parliament made
in the 17th. Year of his present Majestys Reign Intitiled
an Act to a mend and make more effectual the Laws
relating to Rogues Vagabonds and other idle and disorderly
Persons and to houses of Correction your Petitioners
conveyed the said Ann Cherrington< no role > to one of his Majestys
Justices of the peace for this County who Examined the
said Ann Cherrington< no role > and committed her to the house
of Correction Pursuant to the sd. Statute

Your Petrs. therefore pray this Court
to Order the Treasurer of this County
to Reimburse them the sd. Sum of Two
pounds Six Shillings and two pence
Expended by them as aforesaid or such
other Sum as this Court shall Adjudge
a reasonable Satisfaction

And your Petrs. shall pray Etc
