At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of Our Sovereign Lord the King holden for the County of
Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the County aforesaid by Adjornment on Friday the First day
of March in the twenty fourth year of the reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of
Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role > Richard Chamberlayn< no role > Peter Elers< no role > Esquires
& Others their Fellows Justices of Our said Lord the King Assigned to Keep the peace in the County
aforesaid and Also to hear & determine divers felonys trespasses & other Misdeeds committed
in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens & overseers of the poor of the parish of St. Luke in this County
of Middx exhibited their humble petition & appeal unto this Court at this present General
Session of the peace begun & holden for the said County [..] on Monday the twenty fifth day of
February in the twenty fourth year of his present Majestys reign setting forth That by virtue-
of an Order or Pass warrant Under the hands & seals of william Caston< no role > Esquire & Sr. Samuel Gower< no role >
Rut two of his Majestys Justices of the peace for the County of Middx (whereof one is of the
Quorum) bearing date the Seventh day of the same Month of February Thomas Ratleaf< no role > and
Elya Blanchia< no role > his wife were removed from the parish of St. Luke in the said County alledging the
said parish of St. Luke to be the place of their last legal Settlement And that the Petitioners
conceiving themselves agrived by the said warrant or Order of the said two Justices did appeal
to this Court therefrom Which appeal was appointed to be heard & determined by this [..]
Court on this present Friday the first day of March instant (the said General Sessionbeingof the peace
being now on the same day holden by adjornment above for the said County of Middx) Now upon
hearing of Councel for the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poor of the said parish of saint
Leonard Shoreditch alledging that they given Notice to the said Appellants or one of them to-
produce the said Thomas Ratleafs before this Court at the hearing of the said appeal togive-
[..] be examined in this Court touching the place of his legal Settlement, and the said
Appellants having neglected [..] oduce him before this Court to give his evidence touching
the place of his Settlement [..] whereof the said appeal cannot be now determined
This Court upon hearing [..] l for the said Appellants doth Order that the hearing
determining the matter [..] appeal be and the same is hereby adjourned Unti [..]
the next Gene [..] of the peace to be holden for the said County of [..]
Middx, And that [..] Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of both the said parish [..]
all persons conceaned do [..] nd the Court of the said next General Quarter session of the
to be holden for the said County by adjonment on Tuesday the sixteenth day of April
at ten of the clock in the forenoon to hear and abide the Judgment & determination of the said
Court touching the said appeal and let the said Appellants produce the said Thomas
Ratleaf before the Court at the same time,
