To the Worshipfull his Majesties Justices of
the Peace for the County of Middlesex at their General
Sessions Assembled

The Humble Petition of John Hillier< no role >
Apprentice to John Kershaw< no role > of the Parish
of Saint Dunstan Stepney in the County of
Middlesex Line Maker

Humbly Sheweth.


That Your Petitioner on the Twenty Eighth
day of September in the Year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Nine
became Bound an Apprentice Unto the said
John Kershaw< no role > with him to Serve dureing the
Space of Seven Years from the date of the said
Indenture (Relation being thereunto had may
More fully and at large Appe [..] ) And dureing
which said time the said John Kershaw< no role > was
and is to Instruct his said Apprentice in the
Art of Line making but hath not

Your Petitioner further Sheweth that he hath an
diverse times been beat and very much Abused
and Bruised by his said Master and his Apprentice
and Servants so that he has Vomitted blood
Issueing out of his Nose and Mouth, for Several
Week's and without any Reason or Provocation
whatever, And has Wanted Sufficient Necessary
and have Also Endured many other Great
[..] to whom Hardships, of which Your said Petioner has
Complaind before Complained, but Nothing was done there [..]

Your Petioner therefore most humbly
prays that Your Worships would be
pleased to Order that he be Wholly
Discharged from his said Apprenticeship
or have Such other Relief as to Your
Worships shall seem Meet

And Your Petitioner as in Duty Bound Shall ever Pray
Etc.
