Now Laying In Prison In Clerkenwell
In the County above mentioned

Most Humbly Sheweth


That Your Petr. Being Convicted of the
Crime Charged against him By Bird Coalmerchant
In Eastsmithfield In Midlx aforesaid for Stealing Coals
upon Which Your Petr. was thereupon Convicted And
Your Petr. Being Sensible of his facet & Crime hereby
Premiss fishers Amendment In his Life or Conversation
whereby He may Gain an Honest Livelihood Therefore

January the 19th. 1749.

Most Humbly Pray that In Stead of the
Judgement of Publick Punishment Your
Petr. may Receive Private Punishment
Having Now A Wife and Three Small Children
who May Bear the Reflections of Many
People from Such Publick Punishment
