The Church wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Ingatestone in the County of Essex

the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx
Upon a Petition of Appeal agt. an Order of Removal from the
Said Parish of St. Clement Danes So the Sd. Parish of Ingatstone

the appellants in this Cause And Joseph Lacy< no role > his Clerk severally
Make Oath and say and first this Deponent Richard Richardson< no role >
for himself Saith that an Monday the fourth Day of this Instant
December before the Sitting of this Court. (that is to say about
Ten of the Clock in the forenoon) he this Deponent did leave in
the office of Mr. Wilkinson to he acts (as this Deponent in Informed)
as Clerk of the Peace for the County of Middx a Petition of appeal
of the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Sd Parish
of Ingatstone against an Order under the Hands and Seals of
Henry Feilding< no role > & Daneil Gach< no role > [..] Justices of the Peace for the
Liberty of Westminster in Middx hearing Date the Twenty
third Day of September last wherebby one James Mitchell< no role >
an Infant Aged about Twenty Months was removed from
the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the Sd County of Middx to
the Sd. Parish of Ingatstone as being the last legal Place of his
Settlement in Which Petition it is mentioned that the
petitioners canceiving themselves aggrived by the Judgment
of the sd two Justices did humbly appeal to the chairman & the
Rest of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the county of Middx
in general Quarter Sessions assemdled appealed for Roliefe in the
premisses And this Deponent Joseph lacy< no role > for him himself
Saith that on the said fourth day of Instant December in
the after noon During the sitting of this Court in their sd. General
Quarter sessions of the peace holden at Hicks hall in St. John's Street
in & for the said County of Middx by adjournment he this Deponent
attended the sd Court for an Order upon the sd. Petition when the
said Court was pleased to Order & Direct that a Day should
he appernted for hearing the sd. petition of appeal and that
the Benefit of the said Appeal should he saved unto the Petitioners
in order to be heard at this Present General Sessions of the peace
for the County of Middx
