The voluntary Examination & Confusion
of John Gray< no role > of the Parish of St Paul
Shadwell in the County of Middlesex
Mariner Taken on Oath before me one
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
the Said County This 21 May 1749.

This Examinant Voluntarty Comfesseth and Saith
That this Morning about Ten o Clock he was in
the House of Michael Murray< no role > Victuales at
Shadwell Dock along with the now deceased Ann
Gray
< no role > his Wife (where they had a Room)and he
the said Examinant going to Buss his said
now deceased Wife, She refused to let him but
immediately after look a Case knife & threw
at him, upon which he this Examinant did
immediately take up the knife and therewith,
feloniously out the Threat of the Said Ann gray< no role >
his Said now deceased Wife, of which wound
she immediately died.
