To the Worshipfull his Majesties Justices of the
Peace for the Sd County in their General Quarter
Session Assembled this 6th day of July 1749

Whereas at the Last General Quarter of the
Peace Holden for the sd County, William Devonshire< no role > of
South Mims was Recommended (by us whose Names
are hereto Subscribed his Majesties Justices of the Peace
for the sd County) as a Proper Person to Serve the Office
of High Constable for the Hundred of Edmonton in the
sd County in the Place & Stead of Henry Hill< no role > who
Prays to be Discharged from the sd Office. But
Forasmuch as it hath been Signified to Us that the
sd William Devonshire< no role > was Not approved on by reason
of his Keeping a Publick Ale & Victualing House
We do therefore Recommend Francis Lee< no role > as a very
Fit & Proper Person to Serve the sd Office dated the
Day & year above Written.
