The Voluntary Examination and Confession of
William Green< no role > Taken [..] before me One of
his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said
County This Twenty Sixth Day of April 1749 .

As followeth, to wit, He this Examinant along with One
Thomas Wise< no role > did upon Wensday last was a Week being
the Twelfth instant go in to a Shop facing the May pole
in East Smith Field where the said Thomas Wise< no role > did
feloniously Steal One Hat and One Wig beth in Band boxes
The hat Wise Sold to a Hatter in Ragg Fair for fifteen
pence and the wig Wise has now got it on his Head
And that same night they went to the house of Wm Rollings< no role >
of [..] Gravel lane in Bounds ditch, That Rollings per:
swaded Him this Examt to go to Ludgate hill along with him and
theyall threeBoth went down an Alley on the left Hand to a
Work house, where Rollings went over the Wall and handed
over the Pipe of an Engine, which they carried off and
he believes Rollings as now gott the said Pipe at his
Own house: That Yesterday Morning Rollings bought a
File to cut the said Pipe in five Pieces. That last Saturday
This Examinant along with the said Thomas Wife going
along wapping about the Middle of it, Wise Went into
a Slop Shop and did Feloniously Steal out of the Same
Five Shifts, Three Aprons and five pair of Sleeves
which Rollings sold and brought them Nine Shillings
for the Same and a Silk handkerchief which Wife Stole
at the same time and place Rollings brought back

That last Christ Mass. we One Timothy Bean< no role > and the
Examinant coming along Rose Mary Lane turning up
Church lane Been got up and pull'd down a Man's Coat
of the Shelf and carried it away to pawn at Mr. Dockery's
in Thrall Street Spittle fields .
